WEEK 2 REFLECTION FOR GE2153 EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY.

It was September 18th at approximately 10.30 p.m. I got a call from my senior saying that he needed only a few trusts worthy students to help him handling a program that weekend. This program was held for the second intake students that consist of 23 local and 30 international students that leads to an overall of 53 new students got accepted to enter Pendeta Za’ba Residential College. The program went for two spectacular days and nights with wonderful bonds were linked between us, seniors and juniors within just a short period of time. A few pictures had been taken to cherish those beautiful memories created. Also, as proof to why I were absent in class on the second week for Educational Technology.

An old, wise and extraordinary genius man once said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” got me thinking that even though my physical state could not be there in class as Dr Rosseni gave her lecture within only an hour, that did not stop me from imagining as if I were in that particular moment where I should have been last Thursday. Here’s the amazing part, that old, wise genius man was Albert Einstein, the remarkable German-born theoretical physicist and philosopher of Science whom when everybody asks would eventually give the same answer saying, “Do you mean the physicist that are well known until today for his intelligence’s when he developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics."
Based on the input I got from my beloved classmates, previously in week 2 due to a certain constraint of time, the class was shorten from an hour lecture and another two hours of tutorial, there was just an hour to gain enough input before everyone had to go to DECTAR for a CMIE session. Within that one hour, I imagined it would be a little rushed and unplanned. However, as my classmates told me everything was normal, the lesson was very informative even at such little time. For more details on the lecture, I must later confront face to face with my classmates to learn more in depth.

Thank you for continuously reading EnglishAtHeart844.blogspot.com. I will post more and more to share some exquisite experience in life as a student in University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). I encourage more readers to write your own blog and share them with me by giving me links on the comments down bellow. Until my next post, good bye to all.

WEEK 1 REFLECTION FOR GE2153 EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY.

A cherry on top of every sundae.

During my first semester, we all had went through with Computer in Education which was very fascinating because I learned a lot about computers, software and some other amazing applications available in the internet. In this class, I managed to learn the term of Bitmap, Vector, e-learning and many more. Basically when I heard the name of this course, I was expecting sort of the same environment with my previous class where we would be in a computer lab, start doing research and have to do many presentations in groups. However, I cannot really predict the future whether this course is going to be memorable or the other way around. Well, hopefully not the negative feedback of course. I think I am going to enjoy this course because I already have the interest to learn more about computer and gadgets. What’s more interesting is this course will teach me more on the function of technology in education. I can’t wait to start Eucational Technology’s first syllabus or chapter on the second week.

Later, I checked my iFolio and got an announcement to do a one minute video about myself. Honestly, I was not feeling well because of my sore throat but any students would be crazy not grabbing the opportunity to get along with their lecturer by introducing themselves even via virtually. I postponed the task until the day I went out to The Curve. Why doing the video elsewhere you ask? It’s because I have done a video about myself at my own house, this time I want to try something new and a thought came across my mind to do my video at some place new. Making the video was a lot of fun. First of all because I love watching myself speak in English and second  because I managed to entertain my classmates and viewers when they watched my video titled, “About Me” but most of all, I just wish I can see the look on my lecturer’s facial reactions when she will eventually view my task in iFolio.

So far my first week as a second year student is going fine since I have already met almost half of my juniors in college and most of my seniors are super friendly. Therefore, I got no problem whenever I’m in Faculty of Education. Now, about my first day enrolling in Educational Technology, my friends and I were three minutes late because we had to take the second bus since the first bus was already full of juniors from Kolej Pendeta Za’ba. I was a little nervous as I pushed the classroom door. Probably because I knew Prof Madya Dr Rosseni was already in class and I thought she was going to scold me or maybe give me some sort of punishment for being late but luckily, she did not do anything to embarrass us.  So, thank you Prof Rosseni for being incredibly nice to us on our first day.

My definition of technology is any kind of electronic device that can give its beneficial towards human kind to ease our everyday task or activities. Next, there is education which I would interpret as a source of sharing or learning among the educators and students. It does not matter who does the teaching as long as the process or giving and receiving is alive in a classroom environment. However, educational technology can best be seen as more of a study on how to use and manage technological equipments or resources available. My last words would be to express how thankful I am to have such amazing lecturers and classmates that understands me more than anyone else in campus.

Thank you for reading and I will post more after this.

About myself.

My name is Yazmalina Binti Yaacob. Born in 16th May 1994 at Hospital Klang. I live in Taman Alam Megah, Shah Alam, Selangor. I've been there for my whole life and i have a very big family. My father's name is Yaacob Bin Mohd Awang and mother's name is Zaiton Binti Abu Hassan. I have two elder brother called Yazrizad and Yazid while my two elder sister's names are Yazliana and Yazwani. As for my little brother, i just call her Maman. He is fifteen years old and currently studying at Sekolah Dato Abdul Razak in Negeri Sembilan. My family has always been very cheerful, every year we will do a family vacation somewhere around the world such as Bali, Langkawi and Vietnam. My elder brothers and sisters will gather at our home every weekend because my mum cannot survive without seeing her grandchildren.

Enough about my family, my primary school was in Sekolah Kebangsaan Alam Megah (3) in year 2007 till 2012 and alhamdulillah I scored in my UPSR by achieving 5A's and later was called for an interview my Yayasan but somehow i got an opportunity to continue my studies in Maktab Rendah Sains MARA Kubang Pasu until year 2009. After my PMR results, MARA sent me away to Maktab Rendah Sains MARA Tun Ghaffar Baba in Melacca. In year 2012, i further my studies in Faoundation in TESL at Universiti Technologi MARA (UiTM), and now i'm doing my degree in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). I enjoyed my time here traveling and having fun with family and friends. In life, we should never failed to grab the opportunity for a great adventure.

Thank you all.
